RRTC had approximately 70 prospective students participate in Program Shadow Day this week. This event is a hands-on, immersive experience designed for students to explore career paths and to make an informed decision when applying to an RRTC program. Apply online at rrtc.edu. Red River Technology Center’s Cosmetology students recently competed in the Region 4 SkillsUSA Cosmetology Contest. The top three places will advance to the State SkillsUSA Competition in April. Congratulations, students and good luck at the state level.

Thank you to the Rotary Club of Duncan for sponsoring the polo shirts for RRTC’s Emergency Medical Services students uniforms. They also awarded scholarships to 5 of our EMS students. Pictured are EMS students Ezra Telles, Hannah Breault, and Sean Allen with Mark Jardine, President of the Rotary Club of Duncan. Sean was selected as one of the scholarship recipients and received his scholarship.

Red River Technology Center held its annual Tri-County Counselors’ Meeting yesterday. Topics discussed included enrollment updates, ACD and GED information, and important end-of-year dates and informational items. RRTC Construction Technology instructor Scott Myers also presented on the new Construction Technology program, joined by his students. It was a great opportunity to learn about the program directly from the students’ perspectives. Counselors were also informed that a Special Education Symposium will be held at RRTC on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 8:00–11:30 a.m.

Resume preparation is in full swing at RRTC. Second-year students have updated and refined their resumes from last year, while first-year students are actively working on preparing their resumes. RRTC’s goal is for all students to graduate with a polished, professional resume they can confidently take with them into the workforce.

The January Lions Club Students of the Month are Aurore Davis, a Duncan High School senior in our Welding Program, and Julian Findley, a Central High School senior in our Pre-Engineering Academy. Thank you, Duncan Noon Lions Club, for your continued encouragement, support, and dedication to our students. Congratulations to Aurore and Julian!

RRTC Health Careers Students Spread Holiday Cheer!

RRTC’s Health Careers students shared the spirit of the season by Christmas caroling at Elk Crossing Nursing and Rehab and Wilkins Health and Rehab on Wednesday. The group was joined by Central High School band director Mrs. Levondosky and Central High graduate Connor Bowling on the saxophone. Health Careers student Morgayne Carmon and CAD student Aubrey Knapp performed on the trumpet, while Mr. Pollock accompanied the group on guitar. In addition to the music, students handed out Christmas cards to residents, bringing smiles and holiday cheer to everyone they visited.

Was it Mr. Pollock, bringing the festive flair, or Mrs. Deevers, serving holiday elegance? After much debate, admiration, and good-natured laughter, the crowd gave a slight edge to Mrs. Deevers — but let’s be honest, everyone brought the Christmas cheer in style!

RRTC’s annual Christmas luncheon brought retirees and employees together for great food, wonderful fellowship, and plenty of holiday cheer!

RRTC’s Business Professionals of America (BPA) members collected fuzzy socks to donate to residents of Meridian Nursing Home in Comanche. The students visited with residents and personally handed out gifts to approximately 50 individuals, helping spread warmth and cheer throughout the facility.

RRTC’s 2nd Annual Holiday in the Halls was a huge success last week! We are incredibly grateful to Cactus Drilling – Rig 170, Continental Resources, and their vendors for donating brand-new toys and bicycles. We also want to thank our amazing RRTC students, faculty, and staff for their generous donations of new toys and clothing. A special thank-you to the students, faculty and staff who volunteered their time that evening—your dedication and generosity helped make the event run smoothly and truly made a difference. Your support helped make the season brighter for so many!
