RRTC’s Pre-Engineering Academy students helped run the Panning for Gold activity for the third grade classes at Duncan’s Frontier Days at the Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum. Everyone at a great time despite the rainy weather!

Congratulations to Aden Punneo, who recently attained his high school equivalency diploma at Red River Technology Center.

What an amazing opportunity for the RRTC Automotive Service Technology students, Lynn and Conner McKenzie brought their Pontiac G6 race car for a demonstration. Getting the chance to hear a 632 cubic inch big block Chevy engine in person was thrilling for everyone involved!
The drag racing practice tree was a fun way for students to get a feel for how timing works in real drag racing scenarios. It was a real eye-opener to see the technology behind the sport and to get an inside look at what it takes to maintain a race car from the perspective of a professional.
Also, with Lynn’s background as the owner of Lynn McKenzie Automotive in Lawton, it was inspiring for the students to learn from someone with such hands-on experience in both racing and automotive repair.

Congratulations to former RRTC Precision Machining graduate and current substitute instructor, Connor Perkins and his team for winning the 2025 Collegiate Clay Target Championship for Murray State College. They are Division IV National Champions.

RRTC CNC Machining student, Kanyon Ragas, engineered and made a Lathe Chuck Hook Attachment for a Sky Hook Crane. The purpose of this attachment is to allow students to remove and install different chucks on the lathes without help from another student and without the danger of hurting themselves or damaging equipment. While we could have purchased a similar attachment, Kayon saved the school about $200 and sourced the material completely from scrap metal. In addition, the attachment that Kanyon made has an upgrade not found on the original model available for purchase in that Kanyon’s model allows for the chuck to be moved back and forth or rotated as needed due to a sliding collar that the chuck clamps to.

During Career Expo, approximately 603 8th grade students explored occupations by touring programs at Red River Technology Center and by participating in presentations from local community leaders including representatives from Duncan Regional Hospital, Davis Loafman, Dr. Nick Elroy, Duncan Fire Department, and Mike Breeze. We are thankful for these community partners and their commitment to providing a fun, educational experience for the students. This event inspires young people to plan for their future and to prepare them for the choices they will make during high school by exposing them to different career pathways.
Thank you to Bray-Doyle, Central, Comanche, Duncan, Empire, Grandview, Hope Academy Marlow, Ryan, Temple, Velma-Alma, Walters, and Waurika for attending!
