Mr. Lillard was a patron of the Duncan Community and supported Red River Technology Center training. At the time of his death he wanted to donate monies that would be used to help an adult student. The scholarship is awarded through the Oklahoma Communities Foundation. The recipients are Angela Ervin, Chloe Denton, Shawna Duffey, and Simone DeThomas.

RRTC’s EMS and Practical Nursing students participated in the 4th annual live simulation that was held Thursday on campus. RRTC would like to thank Survival Flight Ambulance Service, Air Evac Lifeteam, Chickasaw Nation Emergency Management, Stephens County Emergency Management, City of Duncan Emergency Management, Duncan Fire Department, Duncan Police Department, Duncan Regional Hospital ER Staff, Murray State College – Nursing Program, Stephens County Health Department, Best Towing & Recovery, LLC, Comanche County Hospital EMS Service, and Chase Keck-Former RRTC EMS student. Corbin Bowen, Jett McIntyre, and Jordan Thompson placed first in high school Welding Fabrication. Atlyn Giles placed second in high school welding. Riley Ross, Cody Thompson, Blake Boren placed third in adult Welding Fabrication. William Watson Job Readiness Welding. First place winners will advance to SkillsUSA National competition in June in Atlanta, GA. Congratulations, students!
RRTC’s Cosmetology students attended SkillsUSA state competition this week. Dannial Crispin placed first in Barbering. Dannial, also, received the Breaking Traditions Award. The award was given by the Oklahoma Career and Technical Education Equity Council. Criteria for winning the award included: the student must be training in a career considered non-traditional for their gender and be outstanding in his/her training area. Job Exhibit winners were Kaylee Boyce, Fantasy Makeup-Gold Medal, Jillian Evans, Long Hair Design, Gold Medal, Haley Ledford-Day/Night Makeup-Silver Medal, and Angela Halliburton-Short Hair Design-Silver Medal. Dannial will be attending SkillsUSA National competition in June in Atlanta, GA. Congratulations students!

Maverick Harper and Joseph Turner placed first in EMT and Jace White and Marisa Willer placed 2nd in post-secondary EMT. First place winners will be going to HOSA National competition this summer in Houston. Congratulations, students!

RRTC’s BMITE and Graphic Design students recently attended Pro Sports Career Day hosted by the Oklahoma City Thunder. Executive staff of the Thunder gave their experience in the Sports industry ranging from what they do now and how they got there. Students were able to participate in breakout sessions with Thunder employees from all different aspects of the organization.
