Wilkins Health and Rehabilitation Community
Red River Technology Center
For years, Wilkins Health and Rehabilitation Community, a Medicare-rated 5-star facility, has partnered with Red River Technology Center. RRTC has consistently aided in training many of our staff members including Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Medication Aides, and Certified Nursing Assistants.
As a Medicare, Medicaid, and VA certified Skilled Nursing Facility, Wilkins strives to meet the needs of the frail elderly of our community. Providing well-trained staff to serve our residents is crucial in our quest to provide quality care and a higher quality of life for them.
Our collaborative relationship, which as endured for decades, not only involves WHRC staff being trained at the Technology Center, but also, it is reciprocal. Trainees from Red River Technology Center, are welcomed to complete their clinical hours of training with residents and staff at the nursing facility. We are the largest Skilled Nursing facility in the area and open our doors to provide these students with experiences they will need to be successful in their training and in their professional careers.
Students are exposed to our Memory care unit, the Skilled Therapy wing, and the Long-term care residents of our 128-bed facility. Wilkins Health & Rehabilitation Community is also one of the larger employers in our area, employing over 150 staff members. This experience at our facility can be invaluable in opening doors for the trainees as well as giving them hands-on practice time with individual residents.
Wilkins Health and Rehabilitation Community is proud of our reciprocal relationship with Red River Technology Center. We find the staff and students there to be truly helpful, pleasant, and easy to work with. We are thankful that we have such a professional, essential Center in our community.
