EMS Award

Red River Technology Center Adult and Career Development Director recently attended the Paramedic Graduation on July 22, 2023 at Kiamichi Technology Center Poteau Campus.  Alyssa Childers, Comanche High School and RRTC student, attended the EMR/EMT Daytime program. She later decided to further her career and graduated from the KTC/RRTC Paramedic Program.  In a combined effort, RRTC and KTC, offered Paramedic Training on the RRTC campus through distance learning. Students had the opportunity to advance from an EMT/AEMT Licensure level to Paramedic with 18 months of education in a combined classroom, lab and clinical setting.  Red River was presented the EMS Leadership Award by Clinical Director, Michael Highfill and Director/Lead Instructor, Lisa Dyer for outstanding coordination and student success.  Clinical coordination cannot be offered to our community without the partners of Duncan Regional Hospital Health and Solutions Management, Survival Flight EMS, Waurika EMS, Kirk’s EMS and DaVita Dialysis.  Ms. Childers is the fourth student to graduate from this partnership.  For more information about this program contact Lisa Williams, ACD/WED Director, or go to rrtc.edu and click on program offerings and then short-term programs.
