Automotive Service

2The goal of the Automotive Service Technology program is to prepare students to succeed in an entry-level position as an automotive technician. Students learn eight areas of automotive repair including: Engine Repair; Automatic Transmission/Transaxles; Manual Drivetrain and Axles; Suspension and Steering; Brakes; Electrical/Electronics; Heating and Air Conditioning; and Engine Performance. The curriculum is based on the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) standards used to prepare technicians for national certification tests. The program has received ASE Certification in all eight areas set for industry standards. The Automotive Service plan of study is part of the Transportation, Distribution and Logistics Career Cluster.
