Lions Club Names Students of the Month

Lion’s Club names Students of the Month at RRTC for October

 

The Duncan Noon Lion’s Club has named Red River Technology Center Biomedical Science Academy student Ainsley Linzman and Electronics Technology student Alex Alvarez as Students of the Month for October.

 

Ainsley Linzman, a senior at Empire High School, enjoys the Biomedical Science Academy at Red River Technology Center. She also loves working on her art skills in her spare time.

 

In the community, Linzman has volunteered at the Cedar Cove Art Studio for over three years. She’s also volunteered for the local FFA chapter by working sales and cleaning up trash.

 

After graduation, Linzman plans to attend college for biomedical science, to attend medical school, or attend art school.

 

Alex Alvarez, a senior at Bray-Doyle High School, is active in football, basketball, baseball, archery, student council, and FCA.

 

In the community, Alvarez has volunteered his time with community Christmas lights, doing free farm work, and doing yardwork for his church.

 

After graduation, Alvarez wants to continue his education in electronics and be successful in the field.

Congratulations to Practical Nursing students Herlinda Sanchez, Harold Moran-Zamora, and Cruz Diaz for being named 2020-21 Jerry D. Morris Scholarship recipients! The scholarship is presented in memory of former RRTC superintendent Jerry Morris and is worth $500.

Students awarded Rodney J. Love Scholarship

Congratulations to Chris Whiteman, Chloe Blevins, Brandon Vardell, and Hopelynn Cummings for being awarded the Rodney J. Love Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship is worth $250 per student. Whiteman is a CNC/Precision Machining student; Blevins a Business (BITE) student; Vardell an Automotive Service student; and Cummings a Health Careers student.
