Rewarding and exciting careers in nursing begin with the one-year Practical Nursing program at Red River Technology Center.
Students attend the 12-month Practical Nursing program from July to the following June and attend class Monday through Friday from approximately 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Clinical hours vary from 5:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Applicants must schedule an entrance exam (testing dates listed below) and complete an application packet prior to being accepted to the Practical Nursing program. Applicants must also have a pre-requisite course of Medical Terminology, with a minimum of 45 clock hours, with a grade of B or better. Information packets may be picked up from the RRTC Counselor in the main building. The Practical Nursing program is open to adults who possess a GED or diploma.

The Practical Nursing program is accredited and approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing. Graduates of the program are eligible to write the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) to become a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Testing space is limited and applicants must sign-up no later than 3 days prior to the testing date. To sign-up, call the Practical Nursing secretary or Assessment and Testing Coordinator at 580-255-2903.

Graduates of the program who choose to continue their education may be able to receive college credit at additional institutions, including the University of Oklahoma.
