Four students were awarded the Rodney J. Love Scholarship during the RRTC Awards Ceremony held May 2. Receiving the $250.00 scholarships were: Reagan Julian, Health Careers; Justin Miller, Pre-Engineering Academy; Heather Pitcock, Business; and Bryce Johnson, Carpentry. The scholarship is given in memory of Love, who served on the RRTC School Board prior to his passing.
Three members of the Duncan High School class of 1968 awarded RRTC Health Careers student Tayler Janz with the first “Class of 1968” scholarship. The scholarship, worth $600.00 was presented by class of 1968 members Gretchen White, Kyle Collins, and Cheryl Sims. The group raised funds for the scholarship during their 50 year reunion.
Four RRTC students were recently awarded the Cameron University Tuition Fee Waiver, worth $1,000.00. Receiving the scholarships were: Rickey Wylie, Practical Nursing; Alexandria Jennings, Health Careers; Kaleigh Bowers, Health Careers; and Carly Mann, Practical Nursing.
The Duncan Noon Lions Club awarded Cosmetology student Mayci Hlavaty and Pre-Engineering Academy student Justin Miller with $1,500.00 after being selected as the Students of the Year. Both Hlavaty and Miller were named Duncan Noon Lions Club Students of the Month during the school year. The scholarship was presented by Lions Club member Joe Henderson during the RRTC Awards Ceremony held May 2.
