Lion’s Club names Students of the Month at RRTC for September

 

The Duncan Noon Lion’s Club has named Red River Technology Center Health Careers student Tristen Spivey and Electronics Technology student Joseph Ferguson as Students of the Month for September.

 

Tristen Spivey, a senior at Bray-Doyle High School, is active in track, cross country, basketball, and FFA at her home high school. She is also a member of the Oklahoma High School Rodeo Association and competes in barrel racing and breakaway roping. She has maintained a 3.83 grade point average.

 

In the community, Spivey volunteers her time with Hannah’s Hearts, coat drives, and works lawn maintenance for Hope Community Church and cemetery.

 

After graduation, Spivey plans to attend college and major in alternative veterinary medicine. She hopes to become an equine chiropractor and would like to own a successful performance horse ranch.

 

Joseph Ferguson, a senior at Duncan High School, has been active in Oklahoma Honor Society and Science Club. He is a member of the National Technical Honor Society and served as a mentor in the Star Base program. He has maintained a 3.53 grade point average.

 

In the community, Ferguson has volunteered his time at the Stephens County Science Fair, and helps with events and services and his local church.

 

After graduation, Ferguson plans to attend the Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology to earn his associate’s degree in Avionics. He plans to also pursue a bachelor’s degree while working for a possible Certified Electronic Technician (CET) position.
